A sash window weight, or hung sash window weight, is made of one or more movable panels or sashes. The term is used to exclusively refer to windows where the glazed panels are opened by sliding vertically or horizontally. Sash window weights are used to counter-balance the weight of a sliding sash to hold it in position at any height.

Lead weights can easily be cut to size and have a hole running through the middle of the entire weight. When choosing sash weights for any project, we recommend that you check your box size first and make sure the weights you have selected fit.
