What Are Casting Alloys Good For?
There is a wide range of different casting alloys to select from to achieve the most cost-effective and the most suitable material that meets the requirements of a specific application. Each casting alloy has a different mechanical property which allows them to have various characteristics, for example:
- Machinability
- Corrosion resistance
- Weldability
- Heat treatment properties
What Can Be Made Using Casting Alloys?
Our casting alloy range covers all alloys from lead-free pewter to low cost lead-based specifications. These alloys are perfect for creating figures such as military models and fantasy figurines. Jewellery can also be made using casting alloys due to the bright polished finish. We offer a comprehensive range of tin-based and lead-based alloys which we can produce in mass volume perfect for companies needing specific casting alloy products.
How Are Casting Alloys made?
Casting Alloys are made by pouring liquid metal into a mould that contains a negative impression of the shape you’re creating. The metal and the mould are then cooled, this is when the casting will be extracted from the mould and your product should be ready.
As part of our service in the casting alloy industry we supply dross bins if needed to help the safe transportation of your scrap and drosses.
