Why Does Solder Exist in Bar Form?

DKL Metals Ltd was founded in 1986 as an independent manufacturer of tin/lead alloys. Since then, we have grown substantially and today we are recognised as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high purity solders and alloys. Our expert team have many years of experience in all aspects of alloy technology. This coupled with our onsite, fully equipped laboratory, ensures a prompt analytical and problem-solving service for everyone that comes to us wanting help or any questions answered.

Here at DKL Metals we offer many Solder Bars including 96SC Solder Bars and SN100C Solder Bars. Our solder has been in commercial production for many years helping our clients soldering needs all around the UK.

So why does solder exist in bar form? The solder bar is in bar form due to the convenience of the shape so that when soldering on a larger scale using a machine, the bars are placed into the solder pot and melted with ease. The bars are not too thick ranging from a couple of centimetres wide or even less. This means that the bars are easy to melt for all your soldering needs for either soldering copper, copper alloys or ferrous based alloys.

Here at DKL Metals we pride ourselves on our quality products, personal service and competitive pricing for our customers. If you’re interested in a service or one of our products, then feel free to contact us on 01506 847710 or by email on sales@dklmetals.co.uk
